150 years ago, the railway age reached Northwich with the opening of Northwich Railway Station in 1863.
For One Weekend Only this special Railway Weekend celebrates this momentous occasion.
There will be railway films in the Regalette showing local archive footage, a pictorial display in the library, a model railway exhibition in the Guardians’ Room and a miniature railway outside.
The model railway exhibition will feature 6 layouts courtesy of the Warrington Model Railway Club.
Organised by the Warrington Model Railway Club, the Model Railway Exhibtion will feature:
- Stockton Mill 00 Gauge Railway
- Wild Boar Fell 00 Gauge Railway
- Glazebrook N Gauge Railway
- Dienw 009 Gauge Railway
- Bellwether Works 00 Gauge Railway
- Euro FrachtZentrum H0 Gauge Railway
The event is supported by the Mid Cheshire Community Railway Partnership, the Mid Cheshire Rail Users Association and the 8E Railway Association.
Admission is Adults £3.00; Children £1.50; Concessions £2; Family (2 + 2) £7.
