Andrew Malloy – Chair

In May 2019 he became Mayor of Knutsford, with an extended term due to the pandemic lasting until November 2020. Andrew has a keen interest in promoting and supporting rail services. Andrew is also a keen cyclist and recognises the importance active travel combined with public transport plays reducing congestion on our roads, and pollution in our communities. In April 2022, Andrew was elected Chairman of the Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership.
Andrew has been a long-time supporter of the reopening of the Middlewich Branch line to passenger services, and its importance in opening up services for mid Cheshire to Crewe and national rail services. He is also keen to see the Manchester Airport Western Rail Link created, helping to support the airports’ goal of net zero carbon by 2038.
Ann Pickup

Ann joined the board in 2025. After a long career running her own business in leadership and management learning and development specialising in interpersonal and soft skills, she retired in 2024. At this time, she had already been a member of the Board for two key charities in the Manchester area, namely
- Read Easy where she helped set up a group recruiting volunteers to coach and support adults learning to read or improve reading skills
- Businesses Working with Wythenshawe (BW3) encouraging businesses to work with the community to improve education and employment prospects for young people in the area.
When the CRP were looking for new members to join the MCCRP Board, Ann volunteered. Her role encompasses – amongst other things – working with another fellow Director and volunteers to organise and operate the Music Trains, helping set up the Rail 200 walks both in action and online and identifying ways to raise the awareness of the MCL both locally and along the line.
