Some of the Mid Cheshire line station volunteers along with the Community Rail Officer Sarah Muir were invited to attend the Community Rail Awards evening at the Derby Arena on 19th March.
Moira and Alan Percival represented Friends of Hale who made the short list for the Its your station awards and Bev and Frank Robinson represented Friends of Altrincham Interchange who were also short listed for the its your station award along with the photo competition.
Last Septembers Mid Cheshire Line Baton Relay event was shortlisted for the Railway 200 legacy award. Sarah Muir and Northwich Station volunteer Peter Holland went along to represent all those who helped to organise this whole line project.
Bev Robinson picked up a second place for her fantastic photo of The Hound Dog Blues band playing on one of the Mid Cheshire Music Train events in the photography competition-Congratulations Bev!
While the other attendees didn’t pick up awards it was an achievement in itself to make the short list. The invited guests were treated to a drinks reception, a three course meal and the night finished with music from a local DJ.
It was also a fantastic opportunity to be inspired by all the fantastic and creative projects from station friends groups and community rail partnerships around the country.
