Delamere to Chester via Moudlsworth.
The final day! A dry day with less sunshine was forecast which was just right for the final and longest day. The walk leader for the first leg led us through the forest along established paths such as the Sandstone Trail towards Mouldsworth via Manley which is where he grew up so lots of local history!
On arrival at Mouldsworth, the local pub had kindly opened as a rest stop before the final leg. The baton was handed over, new walkers arrived and the group headed off on the final leg towards Chester, around 10 miles.
Much of the path was the Baker Trail taking the walkers through Tarvin, alongside fields of horses and along the canal leading into Chester where the Harkers Arms awaited before the group left the canal and headed towards the welcoming committee at Chester Station.
The Town Crier, the Mayor and the MCCRP Board awaited to celebrate the end of a momentous walk from Manchester to Chester, with over 100 walkers in total joining us along the way, passing through all the stations and walking around 60 miles over 6 days.
