History Exhibition and talks at Northwich Station

The history of the railways in Northwich exhibition in the Northwich station ticket office gave rail users something of interest to read while they waited for their train. The panels were originally designed by Cheshire West and Chester Museums for an exhibition at The Weaver Hall Museum and Workhouse.

Thanks to Karen and Simon from Friends of Northwich Station for their help setting it up.

Railway Historian Trevor Booth gave a talk on Thursday 27th August at Northwich station on the towns railway history and shared some of the old photos he has collected from years gone by.

There was a good turn out with 15 people turning up to the talk by Trevor which included the part the railways played in the towns booming salt industry, some of the people who staffed the station and the elaborate station gardens which the staff tended in their spare time.

Despite the weather doing its worst there was a good turn out with 15 people showing up to listen to Trevor’s fascinating talk.
