Manchester was a hotbed of radical ideas and actions in the 19th and 20th Century
This tour of the city by local historian Dave Smith will take in many of the key sites which played such an important role in establishing Manchester as a place of activism.
We will see where the pamphlet, which was to change the world was researched and written; find out why there is a statue of Abraham Lincoln in the city centre and discover the role Manchester played in the mid-19th century equivalent of Brexit
Other highlights will take in the Suffragettes, Peterloo, the TUC, the Chartists and the Co-op. The tour will start at 10.30am and conclude around 1pm and will include a coffee break mid way through.
