History panels have been installed at 12 of the 16 stations along the Mid Cheshire Line with a 13th to be installed at Hale station in the coming weeks.
The panels were a joint project between the Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership and local railway historian Trevor Booth to mark Railway 200 in 2025–the 200th anniversary of the modern railway.

The panels have so far been installed at Mouldsworth, Delamere, Cuddington, Greenbank, Northwich, Lostock Gralam, Plumley, Knutsford, Mobberley, Ashley, Altrincham and Navigation Rd stations with history on each of these specific places.
On the 15th January At Altrincham Interchange Mayor of Trafford Cllr Jane Brophy cut the red ribbon on one of the 2 history panels on Pl.4 to officially mark teir installation.

Community Rail Officer for the Mid Cheshire CRP Sarah Muir said “We wanted to do something special to mark railway 200 and we hope these history panels will give rail users, members of local communities and new visitors to these places a fascinating glimpse into the history of their local station and the huge impact the coming of the railways had to these communities.
