Northwich to Delamere – via Greenbank and Cuddington.
Yet more sunshine awaited us on this penultimate day of the baton relay walk. The baton became the responsibility of a new walk leader and the group set off from Northwich towards Greenbank after a short send-off from the local Mayor. We passed through parkland and along the canal, via woods and alongside a viaduct, along a lovely route towards Greenbank. Upon arrival we then set off towards Cuddington via Hartford, passing the train station there and availing ourselves of the hospitality and a short rest at the local village hall.
Again a lovely countryside walk to Cuddington where we were greeted by locals who had kindly set up a MacMillians Coffee Morning in the local pub. Walkers drank coffee, ate cake and donated to charity… a great stop!
Feeling suitably refreshed, they headed off on the final leg of the day towards Delamere Forest. Passing sand quarries and walking through woodland and fields, we arrived at Delamere in time for a nice drink in the Station Café before heading off home on the train.
