YOUR HELP IS NEEDED
British Transport Police needs you!
The national police force for the railways is looking for enthusiastic volunteers in North West England to help form a vital link between police officers and local communities.
During the past few months BTP in the North West has undergone a structural overhaul with the introduction of neighbourhood policing across the region.
This follows a hugely successful pilot of the scheme in Southport, Manchester and Wirral which has seen a reduction in many types of crime as well as improved passenger and rail staff satisfaction.
With neighbourhood policing in operation across the North West BTP officers and staff will be working alongside local communities and businesses to identify and deal with problems which have an effect on the wider railway environment.
For this to operate effectively BTP needs committed volunteers to provide a key link back to the community and is now actively looking for people who are interested in their local railway and who would be willing to devote some time to making it a better place for all.
Tasks could include attending community meeting, raising local issues and liaising with partner agencies to help develop solutions.
But no contribution is too small and BTP is grateful for any assistance the public can offer.
