Steam Transport Weekend

The award-winning Lion Salt Works Museum is holding its inaugural Steam Transport Weekend on Sunday 1 May and Monday 2 May.

It will feature the 'President' and 'Kildare' historic boats plus at least six miniature steam engines, most in full steam during the day. In addition, there will be steam lorry and a display of treadle-powered fret saws.

The event is free and there is no charge to visit the café, play area or butterfly garden. There will also be a series of stalls and children’s activities available at a modest cost.

Steam engines that will be on display during the two-day event will include two 4" scale Burrell double crank compound Road Locos, "Lady Louisa’ and "Alexander" as well as ‘Bessie’ a 3" scale Marshall traction engine, "Endurance" a 4" scale Tasker A2 Tractor and "Tommy" a 3" scale Burrell traction engine.
