Evening Music Train to Plumley

24th April 2013

Join the Evening Mid Cheshire Line Music Train to the Golden Pheasant pub at Plumley ....

Three bands - Time Bandits, Full House and Off The Rails are playing and singing on the Music Train from Chester and at the Golden Pheasant pub in Plumley.  They are promoting Chester Folk Festival (www.chesterfolk.org.uk)  - to be held at Kelsall from Friday 24 May to Monday 27 May.

The Time Bandits play Anglo-European folk and renaissance dance music for concerts and ceilidhs (www.thetimebandits.co.uk).  Full House play a mixture of traditional, contemporary and self written material on guitar and octave mandola (www.fullhousefolk.co.uk). Off The Rails present a rail-themed programme of music in a range of musical styles - folk, American blues, ragtime and country.

You may board this Music Train at Chester, Mouldsworth, Delamere, Cuddington, Greenbank, Northwich or Lostock Gralam stations.

What is a Music Train?

Music Trains are arranged by the Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership to promote the Line. The Music Train uses one of the Mid Cheshire Line’s regular hourly services to Manchester, operated by Northern Rail, which stops at all stations.

How it works - the band plays on the train - we take over a carriage. At our destination everyone alights to visit the pub for drinks and good food – and there is a further session from the band. There is no charge for the event - just the price of your ordinary train ticket. There will be a collection for the musicians. You can buy train tickets from staffed stations or from the conductor on the train - you can pay with a credit or debit card.

Extra music trains - as well as operating the public programme of music trains we may be able to arrange a ‘special’ for a group of 35 or more – contact the music trains organiser to discuss the possibilities at musictrains@midcheshirerail.org.uk.
