Talk: Weaverham History Society

9th July 2019

The Rylands family: Wire, Women and Song

The Rylands family were substantial employers during the 19th century in Warrington where they manufactured wire – as a consequence the Rylands name is well known in Warrington to this day.

One of the family was Peter Rylands who lived at Massey Hall and who became a Mayor of Warrington and an MP.  Philip Jeffs, who is the Archives and Heritage Officer at Warrington Museum and Art Gallery, will be giving us a talk on the history of this influential and important Warrington family.

All meetings, unless otherwise stated, are held at University Primary Academy Weaverham (formerly known as Wallerscote Community School) on the second Tuesday of the month.

Starts at 7:30pm.

Membership is £15.00 per year.  Meetings are free to members of Weaverham History Society, children and students. Visitors are requested to pay £2 at each meeting.
