Robert Fitzroy, HMS Beagle’s tragic captain

Dr Simon La Frenais will be detailing the tempestuous career and death of this remarkable sailor who, as well as captaining the Beagle on its amazing voyage, also founded the Meteorological Department, now known as the Met Office.

All meetings, unless otherwise stated, are held at University Primary Academy Weaverham (formerly known as Wallerscote Community School) on the second Tuesday of the month.

Starts at 7:30pm.

Membership is £15.00 per year.  Meetings are free to members of Weaverham History Society, children and students. Visitors are requested to pay £2 at each meeting.
