Summer Music Festival

Anderton Boat Lift

For its second Summer ‘Lift Off’ concerts, the exciting musical line-up at the Boat Lift will feature headline act ‘Rule the World’ - the country’s number one Take That tribute band and recent winners of the National Tribute Award 2016.

The festival will also feature the big band sound of the seven-piece Crewe and Sandbach-based band, Platform 7, including its three female saxophonists.

Top hits of the 70s and 80s, including music from The Jam and The Cure, will be performed live by Crewe-based band, ‘The Start’ and the festival will end on a ‘high’ of Madness songs with Los Palmas 6. The band is the leading ‘Madness’ tribute band, attracting rave reviews from festival goers around Britain. The band features Steve Turner, who was with the band for eight years on saxophone.

A bar will be available each night in the Lift View Marquee, along with fresh, affordable food from the kitchens of the Lift’s tree-top Coffee Shop.

The line-up is:

Friday 12 August 2016 – ‘Rule the World’ (supported by Field Talks, its lead male vocalist)
Advance tickets are £17.50 or on the door, £22.50. Doors open 6.30pm.

Saturday 13 August 2016 – Platform 7
The band will perform a wide selection of Soul and Motown music and will be supported by the beautiful and powerful voice of female vocalist, Dion Georgino Advance tickets are £7.50 or on the door, £10.00. Doors open 6.30pm.

Friday 19 August 2016 - The Start.  
The four-piece band will play hits from the 70s and 80s, such as The Jam, The Cure and many more. Supported by top vocalist, Darren Collings.

Advance tickets are £7.50 or on the door, £10.00. Doors open 6.30pm.

Saturday 20 August 2016 – Los Palmas 6
Featuring Steve Turner, who played saxophone with Madness for eight years and Natasha Marie, a leading female vocalist singing SKA Music.

Advance tickets are £17.50 or on the door, £22.50. Doors open 6.30pm.

Festival goers can enjoy watching the live acts on the terraced lawns that overlook the magnificent Anderton Boat Lift, which is widely acknowledged as one of the finest feats of high Victorian engineering anywhere onBritain’s waterways.

Known at the ‘Cathedral of the Canals’, the world’s first successful boat lift is a spectacular and unforgettable location for this high-energy, Summer Music festival.
