Common Lore by Sophia Hatfield

Lion Salt Works
12th October 2018

Performance starts 7.30pm (doors open 6.45pm) ....

Common Lore’ is an exciting fusion of rap, spoken word, projections and live electronic music.

A modern take on traditional stories, this unique and relevant show sees Fairy Tales and modern life collide!

An inventive, fast-paced reinvention of traditional theatre, technology and spoken word – all performed by one young woman (and her mobile phone!).

Meet Scarlet, as she reinvents the childhood stories told to her by her nan in her own unique way.

‘Common Lore’ is a new show developed for teenage and young adult audiences aged 11 and over, but it is suitable for people of all ages.

“…amazing, with layering of live singing using a loop pedal, mobile phone back projections and a story that will appeal to all ages, based on Angela Carter’s dark fairytales.’ Anne Dates

“Witty, engaging and interesting”

“Original, fast and very engaging.”
