Delamere station, with its superb station café, is situated in the heart of Delamere Forest, Cheshire's largest woodland.  Both a place for families to let off steam and a place to escape the crowds, the forest offers a variety of outdoor pursuits.

Go Ape, the ‘High Wire Forest Adventure' is located lass than five minutes walk from the station and there are miles of tracks and trails for every walking ability.

Travel to Go Ape at Delamere by train, on a Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays), and you will receive a 20% discount.  Simply book online at Go Ape using the promotional code CCR020 or call 0845 643 9215.

There are exhibitions, wildlife displays and café at the Visitor Centre, a gentle 15 minute stroll from the station.

For long distance walkers, the 34-mile Sandstone Trail walk which links Frodsham and Whitchurch cuts through the forest and the 13-mile Baker Way links Delamere Forest with Chester Station through beautiful Cheshire landscapes.

Delamere Forest, once a royal hunting ground in Norman times and now a haven for wildlife, is managed and sustained by The Forestry Commission.

For more formal dining why not stroll through the forest to the Carriers Inn just past the cross roads by Hatchmere Lake. Or visit the Delamere Fortune Palace on the crosss roads for Pekinese, Cantonese and Thai Cuisine.

Delamere Railway Station has won two awards in the Cheshire Best Kept Station Competition.  In 2005 it won the Visit Chester and Cheshire Award for contribution to Tourism and in 2008 won the Vale Royal Borough Council Award.
