QUICK LINK - Easy to Read Mid Cheshire Line Train Times from Chester

There is plenty to do in Chester - walk the walls and the Rows (historic two-tiered shopping galleries) and enjoy the magnificent architecture of the City, browse the shops from large chain stores to smaller independent retailers.

Relax and rest in one of the many restaurants, cafes and bars. Then stroll through Grosvenor Park amid the floral displays to the Groves and the River Dee where you can hire a rowing boat or take a trip on the pleasure craft up the Dee. Did you know you can also catch a miniature train in the park? A novel way to amuse the family.

To find out more about the history of the city and its Roman heritage visit the free Grosvenor Museum or the Roman Ampitheatre and St John's Church.

Visit what is reputed to be the oldest race course in the country - there are race days and other events at the Roodee throughout the year.

Ten minutes walk from the station is Chester Cathedral. Amongst its outstanding features are the Cobweb Picture, the Quire stalls and the surrounding gardens.

A bus ride away is Chester Zoo - a great day out for the family - where there are over 5,000 animals to see, including the UK's largest breeding colonies of chimpanzees and orang-utans.

A Rail Link Bus runs from the station to the city centre every 10 minutes in the daytime from Monday to Saturday.

Regular trains run direct from the station to Birmingham, Cardiff, Knutsford, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Shrewsbury, and the North Wales Coast - and many other day-trip destinations.
